2023年7月的一天，西班牙姑娘貝白（Bego?a Martinez Gomez）手捧白色玫瑰，來到唐高宗李治與武則天的合葬墓乾陵?？粗矍拔《氲幕柿?、屹立的石碑、威武的石像，那一刻，學(xué)習(xí)過中國歷史的貝白，仿佛化身使者，回到一千多年前的大唐王朝，完成了一場穿越時空、跨越中西方文明的對話……

One day in July 2023, Bego?a Martinez Gomez, a Spanish girl, with a white rose in her hand, walked up to the Qianling Mausoleum, the joint tomb of Emperor Gaozong Li Zhi and Empress Wu Zetian. Looking at the majestic imperial mausoleum, the standing stone tablets, and the imposing stone statues in front of her, at that moment, Bego?a, who had studied Chinese history, felt like she had turned into a messenger, and return to the Tang Dynasty over a thousand years ago, completing a dialogue that transcended time and space and bridged Chinese and Western civilizations...

論文以武則天為題

A Thesis on Wu Zetian

“唐朝是偉大的時代，大學(xué)時我做的武則天論文，老師給予了很高評價?！?9歲的貝白來自西班牙萊昂，在媽媽的影響下，她從小就對遙遠(yuǎn)的中國產(chǎn)生興趣。

“The Tang Dynasty was an amazing era. When I was in university, I wrote a thesis on Wu Zetian, and my teacher gave it a high evaluation,” says 29-year-old Bego?a, who’s from León, Spain. Under the influence of her mother, she had been interested in the far-off China since childhood.

“我媽媽喜歡了解世界各地的文化，也常分享給我，教育我不要心存偏見。我最愛聽她講花木蘭的故事?！必惏渍f，花木蘭的勇氣與堅(jiān)韌，讓她對中國女性有了最初的認(rèn)識。

“My mother loves learning about cultures from all over the world and often shares them with me, teaching me not to be prejudiced. I love listening to her tell the story of Hua Mulan the most,” Bego?a says. Hua Mulan’s courage and perseverance gave her the first impression of Chinese women.

大學(xué)時，貝白選擇了世界史專業(yè)，主攻中國史方向，其間做了中國歷史上眾多女性的學(xué)習(xí)研究。

At university, Bego?a chose the major of World History, focusing on Chinese history. During this period, she conducted in-depth studies on many Chinese women in history.

2019年，即將大學(xué)畢業(yè)的貝白，在萊昂大學(xué)孔子學(xué)院舉辦的一場國際會議上，發(fā)表了自己關(guān)于女皇武則天研究的演講。

In 2019, just before her graduation, Bego?a delivered a speech on her research on Empress Wu Zetian at an international conference held by the Confucius Institute of University of León.

“準(zhǔn)確地說，是2019年5月2日，我會永遠(yuǎn)記得這天?！必惏捉榻B，演講后，現(xiàn)場一位中國女嘉賓和她進(jìn)行了交談，肯定了她的演講，鼓勵她到中國看看。

“Precisely, it was on May 2nd, 2019. I will always remember this day,” Bego?a says. After her speech, a Chinese lady guest at the conference approached her to chat, praised her speech, and encouraged her to visit China herself.

不久，貝白懷揣憧憬來到西安。對于為什么選擇西安，貝白給出堅(jiān)定的回答：“學(xué)中國歷史，必須了解西安！”

Before long, Bego?a came to Xi’an with great anticipation. When asked why she chose Xi’an, she answered without hesitation: “To study Chinese history, you must get to know Xi’an!”

貝白說，盡管是第一次來西安，她卻感到十分親切。對西安十三朝的建都史、數(shù)不清的歷史遺存，因?yàn)樘崆白鲎懔斯φn，她都有了深入了解。

Even though it was her first time in Xi’an, she felt right at home. Owing to her thorough preparation in advance, she had a deep understanding of Xi’an’s history as the capital of thirteen dynasties and its countless historical relics.

博物館里當(dāng)“導(dǎo)游”

Being a “Guide” in the Museum

2023年，研究生畢業(yè)的貝白，如愿得到了在西安工作的機(jī)會，成為西安外事學(xué)院國際合作學(xué)院的一名外教，教授英語和西班牙語。

In 2023, after graduating from postgraduate studies, Bego?a landed her dream job in Xi'an and became a foreign teacher at the College of International Cooperation of Xi’an International University, teaching English and Spanish.

貝白的課堂風(fēng)格輕松、幽默，很受學(xué)生喜歡。但她的教學(xué)并不限于課堂。

Bego?a’s teaching style is relaxed and humorous, which makes her classes very popular among students. However, her teaching doesn’t stop in the classroom.

貝白的學(xué)生姜惠菡告訴記者，貝白總是積極拓展有趣的教學(xué)主題，讓同學(xué)們保持強(qiáng)烈的學(xué)習(xí)興趣，她鼓勵學(xué)生以分享經(jīng)歷、文化研討等方式輸出，提高英語、西班牙語表達(dá)能力。貝白還會利用自己的眼界、閱歷和歷史專長，讓學(xué)生得到更多收獲。

Jiang Huihan, one of Bego?a’s students, told the reporter that Bego?a always actively expands interesting teaching topics to keep students’ strong learning interest. She encourages students to share experiences and cultural discussions to improve their English and Spanish expression abilities. Bego?a also uses her broad vision, rich experience, and expertise in history to enable students to gain more.

“大明宮是唐代最恢宏壯麗的建筑，唐朝的皇帝在這里上朝聽政……”2025年國慶假期，在大明宮國家遺址公園內(nèi)，身材修長的“洋導(dǎo)游”貝白，邊走邊用中英雙語給同行的姜惠菡等多名中國學(xué)生講解著大明宮的歷史，不時吸引人們注意。

“Da Ming Palace was the most magnificent and grand building in the Tang Dynasty. The emperors of the Tang Dynasty held court and administered the country here...” During the National Day holiday in 2025, the tall, slender “foreign tour guide” Bego?a was walking around the Da Ming Palace National Heritage Park, explaining the history of Da Ming Palace in both Chinese and English to Jiang Huihan and several other Chinese students, attracting passers-by’s attention from time to time.

像這樣有趣的畫面在貝白身上經(jīng)常發(fā)生?！拔靼灿泻芏嗖┪镳^，我經(jīng)常和朋友們?nèi)ミ@些博物館，給他們當(dāng)‘導(dǎo)游’?！必惏渍f，陜西歷史博物館她去過7次，許多文物在她看來就像“老朋友”；陜西考古博物館是她最喜歡的一座博物館，那里展品精彩，講解十分到位，她希望未來博物館能提供更多語種講解。

Such interesting scenes happen to Bego?a all the time. “There are many museums in Xi’an, and I often go to these museums with my friends and act as a ‘tour guide’ for them,” Bego?a says. She has visited the Shaanxi History Museum seven times, and many of the cultural relics there are like “old friends” to her. The Shaanxi Archaeology Museum is her favorite museum, with wonderful exhibits and detailed explanations. She hopes that in the future, museums can offer explanations in more languages.

“在西安，我最熱愛的中國歷史變得鮮活，它成為我生活的一部分，讓我覺得自己很幸運(yùn)！”貝白由衷地說。

“In Xi’an, the Chinese history I love the most has come alive. It has become a part of my life, making me feel very lucky!” Bego?a says sincerely.

翻譯名作下功夫

Working Hard to Translate Masterpieces

冬日的暖陽天，貝白身穿黑色新中式流蘇馬甲，手捧一本漢英對照版《賈平凹散文選》，坐在閱覽室一角認(rèn)真看著。

On a warm winter day, Bego?a, dressed in a black neo-Chinese style fringed vest, was sitting in a corner of the reading room, nose-deep in a Chinese-English bilingual version of “Selected Prose of Jia Pingwa”.

貝白正在進(jìn)行《賈平凹散文選》的西班牙語翻譯工作。在2023年10月舉辦的《賈平凹散文選》多語種版本中國發(fā)布座談會暨翻譯授權(quán)儀式上，賈平凹為貝白等簽發(fā)了授權(quán)書。

Bego?a is currently working on the Spanish translation of “Selected Prose of Jia Pingwa”. At the China Release Symposium and Translation Authorization Ceremony of the multilingual versions of “Selected Prose of Jia Pingwa” held in October 2023, Jia Pingwa issued authorization letters to Bego?a and others.

“我當(dāng)時特別激動！”貝白回憶說，賈平凹是當(dāng)代中國文壇的著名作家，是陜西文學(xué)的領(lǐng)軍人物，他的作品展現(xiàn)著中國的社會變遷和人文歷史、民風(fēng)民俗。她希望通過這樣優(yōu)秀的中國文學(xué)作品外譯，讓更多西班牙人了解中國，愛上中國文化。

“I was extremely excited at that time!” Bego?a recalled. Jia Pingwa is a renowned contemporary Chinese writer and a leading figure in Shaanxi literature. His works showcase China’s social changes, humanistic history, and folk customs. She hopes that through the translation of such excellent Chinese literary works, more Spaniards will come to understand and love Chinese culture.

“翻譯著作并不容易，它十分考驗(yàn)譯者的‘功底’?！必惏渍f，翻譯著作不僅需要譯者的語言功力，更需要深刻理解原作的思想、情感、表達(dá)習(xí)慣以及創(chuàng)作的文化背景等。如何精準(zhǔn)轉(zhuǎn)換，跨越中西方文化差異，讓異國讀者理解，是極具挑戰(zhàn)的。

“Translating works is not easy. It greatly tests the translator’s ‘foundation’,” Bego?a says. Translating works requires not only the translator’s language proficiency but also a deep understanding of the original work’s ideas, emotions, expression habits, and cultural background. To accurately convert and bridge the cultural differences between China and the West to make foreign readers understand is a significant challenge.

2025年，貝白參加了在大連舉辦的2025中國翻譯協(xié)會年會。年會上，貝白發(fā)言，和與會嘉賓交流了自己在翻譯賈平凹作品時遇到的問題，得到不少幫助。

In 2025, Bego?a participated in the 2025 Annual Conference held by Translators Association of China in Dalian. At the conference, she shared the difficulties she encountered while translating Jia Pingwa’s works with the guests and received a lot of help.

在校期間，貝白還參加過學(xué)校舉辦的“唐詩西班牙語翻譯”講座、欣賞過西安外事鼓樂團(tuán)的專業(yè)演出，接觸到更多中華優(yōu)秀傳統(tǒng)文化。

During her school years, Bego?a also attended a lecture on “Spanish Translation of Tang Poetry” organized by the school and enjoyed professional performances by the Drum Ensemble of Xi’an International University, where she comes into contact with more of China’s fine traditional culture.

閑暇時，貝白喜歡把自己的工作生活和遠(yuǎn)在家鄉(xiāng)的親人分享，讓大家看到她的努力和成長。

In her spare time, Bego?a loves to tell her family back home about her life and work in Xi’an, sharing her efforts and growth with them.

在西安的近三年，貝白度過了一個又一個美好的節(jié)日。剛剛過去的元旦跨年夜，她和朋友們像往年一樣聚在一起，品美食、看晚會，一起倒計時，也不忘按照西班牙的習(xí)俗，在零點(diǎn)來臨時，連續(xù)吃下12顆葡萄，帶著對來年的美好祈愿，走進(jìn)新的一年！

During her nearly three years in Xi’an, Bego?a has spent many wonderful festivals. On the New Year’s Eve that just passed, she gathered with her friends as usual, enjoying delicious food, watching the gala, and counting down together. She also followed the Spanish custom of eating 12 grapes at midnight, making a wish, and stepping into the new year!
