The Bay House, designed by SGA Limited, perches on Auckland's North Shore as three stacked and staggered box forms. Its color scheme is tailored to blend with the surrounding landscape, effectively reducing the visual bulk of the three - level structure. The most striking feature is the glass - roofed atrium that cuts through the deep basement, a brilliant design that ushers sunlight into every living space despite the house being recessed into the hillside. This atrium is not just a light well but the spiritual core of the residence, connecting different levels and infusing the entire house with natural vitality.

由 SGA 建筑事務(wù)所設(shè)計(jì)的海灣住宅（Bay House）坐落于奧克蘭北岸，以三個(gè)堆疊且交錯(cuò)排布的盒式體量呈現(xiàn)。建筑配色經(jīng)過(guò)精心考量，巧妙融入周邊景致，有效弱化了這座三層住宅的視覺(jué)厚重感。最為亮眼的是貫穿地下深層空間的玻璃頂中庭，即便住宅嵌入山坡，這一精妙設(shè)計(jì)仍讓陽(yáng)光穿透至每一處生活空間。中庭不僅是采光井，更是整座住宅的精神核心，串聯(lián)起不同樓層，為全屋注入自然生機(jī)。

The double - height entry space guided by the atrium leads smoothly to the open - plan living areas, which seamlessly connect to the spacious north - facing terrace. The timber flooring serves a dual purpose: it outlines the circulation paths, subtly dividing different functional zones, while its texture evokes the nostalgic charm of quintessential seaside boardwalks. Up on the third floor, the master suite lined with warm timber enjoys exceptional views of the surrounding beaches. Elevated high, the suite is bathed in abundant natural light all day long, creating a serene and private sanctuary for the residents.

由中庭延伸出的雙層挑高入口空間，順勢(shì)銜接開(kāi)闊的起居區(qū)域，而起居區(qū)又與寬敞的北向露臺(tái)無(wú)縫貫通。實(shí)木地板一舉兩得，既清晰勾勒出動(dòng)線，巧妙劃分了不同功能區(qū)域，其紋理又喚醒了人們對(duì)經(jīng)典海濱木板路的懷舊情愫。三樓的主臥套房以溫潤(rùn)木材為內(nèi)襯，坐擁周邊海灘的絕佳景致。因地勢(shì)高聳，套房終日沐浴在充裕的自然光中，為居住者打造出一方靜謐私密的休憩港灣。

Addressing the challenges of the elevated south - facing site, the design maximizes southerly sea views through large southward glazing. The tilted roofs not only optimize sun exposure but also ensure the views are visible from the sheltered outdoor terrace. Passive solar design elements are thoughtfully integrated, including insulated thermal mass concrete floors that retain heat effectively, well - positioned overhangs that provide shade only in summer, and strategically placed windows that facilitate natural ventilation throughout the house.

針對(duì)南向高地的場(chǎng)地難題，設(shè)計(jì)通過(guò)大面積南向玻璃幕墻，將南側(cè)海景盡收眼底。傾斜的屋頂不僅能最大限度獲取日照，更讓人們?cè)谡诒瘟己玫膽敉饴杜_(tái)也能欣賞到美景。建筑還巧妙融入被動(dòng)式太陽(yáng)能設(shè)計(jì)元素，隔熱蓄熱混凝土樓板高效鎖溫，位置精準(zhǔn)的挑檐僅在夏季遮擋烈日，而精心布局的窗戶則讓全屋實(shí)現(xiàn)自然通風(fēng)。

The material palette of the house is constrained yet diverse, centered on concrete, black stained cedar, yellow cedar and black steel. All linings, finishes and landscaping align with this coherent palette, achieving visual consistency while embracing rich textures. The contrast between vertical natural yellow cedar screens and horizontal black stained cedar weatherboards creates striking visual tension and interest. Beyond aesthetics, the yellow cedar screens also act as practical privacy barriers and light filters in this compact suburban setting.

住宅的材質(zhì)選用克制而豐富，以混凝土、黑染雪松、黃雪松與黑鋼為核心。室內(nèi)飾面、裝修細(xì)節(jié)與景觀設(shè)計(jì)均圍繞這一統(tǒng)一材質(zhì)體系展開(kāi)，在保證視覺(jué)協(xié)調(diào)性的同時(shí)，又營(yíng)造出豐富的質(zhì)感層次。豎向的天然黃雪松格柵與橫向的黑染雪松木墻板形成鮮明對(duì)比，構(gòu)建出極具張力的視覺(jué)效果。而在這處緊湊的郊區(qū)環(huán)境中，黃雪松格柵不僅美觀，更兼具隱私防護(hù)與光線過(guò)濾的實(shí)用功能。

The horizontally striated exterior cladding of Bay House is a direct homage to the sandstone rock strata flanking the small bay. The recessed concrete basement, fractured by the glass atrium, is greeted by the soothing sound of a cascading pond in the garden above. As guests traverse the timber bridge through the atrium into the living areas, they are greeted by expansive seascape views framed by extensive north glazing. The tilted roofs reach toward the sun, while the silhouettes of overhanging pohukawas against the sky complete the harmonious integration of architecture and nature.

住宅外立面的橫向紋理設(shè)計(jì)，是對(duì)小海灣兩側(cè)懸崖砂巖地層的直接致敬。嵌入地形的混凝土地下室被玻璃中庭分割，上方花園中瀑布池塘的潺潺水聲，為入戶空間增添了靈動(dòng)氣息。訪客經(jīng)由中庭內(nèi)的木橋步入起居區(qū)，大面積北向玻璃將開(kāi)闊的海景框入室內(nèi)，成為天然畫(huà)卷。傾斜的屋頂朝著陽(yáng)光舒展，懸垂的波胡卡瓦樹(shù)枝在天際勾勒出優(yōu)美輪廓，讓建筑與自然完美相融。

Every detail of Bay House embodies the clients' desire for a spacious home that embraces natural materials, views, solar gain and natural light. The collaboration between SGA Limited, engineers McNaughton Consulting Engineers and photographers Simon Devitt has brought this vision to life. From the Kina light by David Trubridge to the LEGRABOX hardware by Blum Austria, each selected product complements the design concept. This residence is more than a house; it is a heartfelt dialogue between humans, architecture and the coastal landscape, where functionality and emotional value coexist in perfect harmony.
