Nestled in the rural countryside of Hindawadi, Bellary, India, Thirdspace Architecture Studio's "Two Solids and A Semi Void" residence, within a 550-square-meter space, connects family heritage and community spirit. The client's deep roots in the Bellary textile industry evoke a minimalist approach to the architecture, creating a home that both reflects their industry heritage and aligns with a modern ethos (ethos, in this case, a philosophy of living). This dialogue between tradition and innovation fosters a strong emotional foundation for the home.

在印度貝拉里欣達(dá)瓦迪的郊野間，Thirdspace Architecture Studio 打造的 “Two Solids and A Semi Void” 住宅，以 550 平方米的空間，串聯(lián)起家族傳承與社區(qū)精神。業(yè)主深耕貝拉里紡織業(yè)，設(shè)計(jì)師便以極簡(jiǎn)筆觸，讓建筑既呼應(yīng)其行業(yè)底蘊(yùn)，又契合現(xiàn)代生活 ethos（ethos 指理念，這里指現(xiàn)代生活理念），在傳統(tǒng)與創(chuàng)新的對(duì)話中，筑牢家的情感根基。

The residence faces south, yet the entrance is strategically located in the northeast quadrant, facing east. Opening the door, a sensory feast unfolds. In the courtyard, towering mango trees flourish, their robust branches providing shade, while a sturdy stone wall encloses a tranquil atmosphere. From the living room, the courtyard opens onto the lush back garden. Morning light filters through the foliage, casting shadows on the stone walls. Stepping into this space, one feels instantly disconnected from the hustle and bustle of the world, finding a sanctuary of spiritual tranquility.

住宅朝南，入口卻巧妙設(shè)于東北象限且朝東，推開(kāi)大門，一場(chǎng)感官盛宴隨之展開(kāi)。庭院里，高大的芒果樹(shù)枝繁葉茂，粗壯枝干撐起一片綠蔭，周邊堅(jiān)固的石墻圍合出靜謐氛圍。從客廳望向庭院，后方蔥郁的后花園映入眼簾，晨光透過(guò)枝葉灑下，光影在石墻上流轉(zhuǎn)，步入此處，仿佛瞬間隔絕外界喧囂，尋得一片心靈休憩的凈土。

The spatial layout is thoughtfully crafted, adhering to Vastu Shastra (traditional Indian architectural principles) while balancing functionality and emotion. Core areas like the kitchen and mandir are tucked away in corners, ensuring privacy and order. The central living, dining, and lounge areas serve as the family's "emotional hub." In the mornings, families gather in the dining room for breakfast, filled with laughter and joy. In the evenings, they gather in the living room for conversation, their warmth illuminated by the open air, a gentle flow of family affection.

空間布局暗藏巧思，既遵循 Vastu Shastra（Vastu Shastra 指印度傳統(tǒng)建筑法則），又兼顧功能與情感。廚房、禮拜室（mandir）等核心區(qū)域居于角落，保證私密與規(guī)整；中央的客廳、餐廳與休閑區(qū)則是家庭的 “情感樞紐”。清晨，家人圍坐餐廳共享早餐，歡聲笑語(yǔ)漫溢；夜晚，齊聚客廳暢談，溫暖燈光下，親情在開(kāi)放空間里靜靜流淌。

The "solid" spaces on the east and west sides contrast sharply with the "semi-void" central area. The east side is a haven for both taste and faith, with fragrant aromas wafting from the kitchen and a solemn prayer room. The west side offers a haven for rest, with cozy bedrooms and a staircase connecting upper and lower levels. The public area, sandwiched in between, offers a flexible and transparent space where the views of the front and rear gardens merge, blurring the lines between indoor and outdoor.

東西兩側(cè) “實(shí)體” 空間與中央 “半虛” 區(qū)域形成鮮明對(duì)比。東側(cè)空間是味蕾與信仰的歸屬，廚房飄出陣陣香氣，禮拜室透著莊嚴(yán)；西側(cè)則是休憩的港灣，臥室溫馨舒適，樓梯連接起上下生活。夾在中間的公共區(qū)域靈活通透，前花園的景致與后花園的綠意在此交融，行走其間，室內(nèi)外的界限悄然模糊。

The choice of materials reflects the owner's refined taste, with natural wood and stone creating a warm atmosphere. The delicate grain of the wooden furniture creates a natural warmth when touched by fingertips, while the stone flooring offers a calming and elegant feel, bearing the weight of everyday footsteps. The stark white flooring contrasts with the expansive glass, framing the outdoor scenery like a flowing painting. Printed tiles and patterned wallpaper add depth to the space, imbuing the simplicity with a sense of movement and warmth.

材質(zhì)選擇盡顯業(yè)主雅致品味，天然木材與石材奠定溫暖基調(diào)。木質(zhì)家具的紋理細(xì)膩，指尖撫過(guò)，能觸到自然的溫度；石材地面沉穩(wěn)大氣，承載日常步履。素白地面與大面積玻璃相映，將室外風(fēng)光框成流動(dòng)的畫。印花瓷磚與花紋壁紙點(diǎn)綴其間，為空間增添層次，讓簡(jiǎn)約之中不失靈動(dòng)與溫度。

More than just a living space, this home epitomizes Bellary's history. Eschewing ostentatious design, it stands quietly in the street, a stark contrast to the gaudy architecture of its surroundings. From the windows, the countryside intersperses, inviting visitors to explore its natural beauty. Every detail tells a family story, and every space pays homage to the spirit of the community, creating a stunning example of the symbiosis of tradition and modernity.

這座住宅不僅是居住空間，更是貝拉里歷史的縮影。它摒棄浮夸設(shè)計(jì)，以沉穩(wěn)姿態(tài)立于街巷間，與周邊艷俗建筑形成反差。推開(kāi)窗，郊野景致不時(shí)闖入視野，吸引人們探尋自然之美。在這里，每一處設(shè)計(jì)都訴說(shuō)著家族故事，每一寸空間都飽含對(duì)社區(qū)精神的敬意，成為傳統(tǒng)與現(xiàn)代共生的建筑典范。
