<分散、凝聚>

策展人:趙丹怡

1年級入學(xué)啟明星,熱愛藝術(shù),有著獨(dú)到的審美

項(xiàng)目:她用6分鐘紀(jì)錄片《分散、凝聚》捕捉到貴州一個(gè)苗族和侗族混居鄉(xiāng)村的生活狀態(tài)。

這是一支完全由趙丹怡自己拍攝和剪輯的紀(jì)錄片。

影片的視角成熟,條理清晰,鏡頭捕捉入微——有天還沒亮?xí)r的牲口棚、逡巡覓食的小雞,也有村民們虔誠和掛滿風(fēng)霜的臉龐.......

與此同時(shí),影片并沒有被細(xì)節(jié)拉扯到失焦,而是準(zhǔn)確地捕捉到鄉(xiāng)民“聚散有時(shí)”的生活狀態(tài)——雖然平時(shí)各忙各的生活,卻能在慶祝菩薩生日的時(shí)候合作做事。

在老師引導(dǎo)下,趙丹怡做了很多社會研究,也自學(xué)了紀(jì)錄片的剪輯技巧,最終從數(shù)不清的、一下子就占滿了電腦存儲空間的素材里,抽出來這樣一部充滿人文關(guān)懷和深思的影片。

她細(xì)膩的觀察和成熟的講故事能力,正是啟明星社會創(chuàng)新項(xiàng)目著力培養(yǎng)的社會敘事技巧;關(guān)于“分散、凝聚”的視角體現(xiàn)了她的思維深度。

嗡嗡嗡

策展人:Bayan Changizi

CASA入學(xué)啟明星,熱愛昆蟲和大自然,是個(gè)特別SI(社會創(chuàng)新)的孩子!

項(xiàng)目:飼養(yǎng)蜜蜂

這是Bayan十幾年的熱愛,沖著這份執(zhí)著,你也要了解一下:

Bayan小學(xué)PYP畢業(yè)展的主題就是蜜蜂,只不過那時(shí)候是研究蜜蜂, “紙上談兵”,現(xiàn)在是拜養(yǎng)蜂人為師,親手飼養(yǎng)。

因?yàn)闊釔郏酝度?,所以不在乎日常養(yǎng)護(hù)蜜蜂時(shí)的日曬風(fēng)吹,也不在意檢查蜂箱時(shí)被護(hù)家的蜜蜂蟄到。

展覽現(xiàn)場,Bayan給我們演示了怎樣打開蜂箱。“蜜蜂的生命只有30天,每次打開蜂箱,箱底都有死掉的蜜蜂。它們的壽命不長,但是為植物授粉,對人類特別重要。我做養(yǎng)蜂這個(gè)項(xiàng)目,是希望讓大家了解蜜蜂對人類的意義,喚起大家少用農(nóng)藥保護(hù)昆蟲的意識。”他說。

Bayan的蜜蜂養(yǎng)在他創(chuàng)始的有機(jī)農(nóng)場FROOT里。蜜蜂為農(nóng)場植物傳粉、釀蜜,成為農(nóng)場生態(tài)的一環(huán),也實(shí)實(shí)在在豐富了農(nóng)場項(xiàng)目的內(nèi)容和厚度。

3月15日,Bayan將作為唯一一位學(xué)生嘉賓,前往The Sustainable Futures Collective大會演講,介紹他以FROOT農(nóng)場為依托的可持續(xù)發(fā)展實(shí)踐。

“發(fā)燒”自行車

策展人:徐恩淏(Nigel Xu)

入學(xué)艾毅幼兒園,1年級升入啟明星,喜歡理工科,熱愛登山。

項(xiàng)目:徐恩淏熱愛騎行,至今已經(jīng)超過1萬公里,而且通過騎行來完成登山的體能訓(xùn)練。他覺得,應(yīng)該有一輛最適合自己的自行車,于是,就動(dòng)手組裝了一輛!

在個(gè)人項(xiàng)目展覽現(xiàn)場,Nigel展示自己的自行車,還騎了好幾圈,挺絲滑的。

“這輛自行車已經(jīng)上過路了。要是媽媽同意,我完全可以騎著來上學(xué),沒問題的!”Nigel很自信。

支撐這份自信的是長達(dá)4個(gè)月逢山開路、遇水搭橋的韌性和付出。

要知道,中國的自行車生產(chǎn)已經(jīng)產(chǎn)業(yè)化,動(dòng)手DIY自行車可謂發(fā)燒級別,要面對好多挑戰(zhàn)!比如,有些零件國內(nèi)根本沒有,Nigel只好從歐洲和美國購買;還有完成焊接的工作,他不能在北京市內(nèi)完成,而必須到郊區(qū)找個(gè)工廠廠房;就是焊接工作本身也不是個(gè)容易的工作,一不小心就焊穿了,或者焊了半天,還是接不上......

憑著一腔熱愛和早在去年登上玉珠峰時(shí)就展現(xiàn)出來的韌性,Nigel在師傅幫助下完成了車架焊接,自己編了輪組,調(diào)適好剎車和變速——從圖紙到完成實(shí)物,用時(shí)4個(gè)月組完成了“Nigel版”自行車。

個(gè)人項(xiàng)目就是萬花筒,折射出孩子們斑斕的興趣和我們無法預(yù)測的潛力和技能。個(gè)人項(xiàng)目協(xié)調(diào)員Luke Jones老師的評價(jià)是:

個(gè)人項(xiàng)目是所有10年級學(xué)生學(xué)習(xí)和成長的絕佳機(jī)會。通過個(gè)人項(xiàng)目,他們以非凡的方式探索并表達(dá)自己豐富的熱愛和興趣。能夠指導(dǎo)他們完成這段重要的學(xué)習(xí)旅程,我深感幸運(yùn)。同學(xué)們,做得好!

Dispersion

& Aggregation

Curator:Olive Zhao
A Daystar Academy student since first grade, Olive has a deep love for art and a unique aesthetic vision.


Project:Dispersion and Aggregation– a 6-minute documentary capturing the way of life in a village in Guizhou, where Miao and Dong ethnic groups coexist.

This project is truly impressive—a documentary filmed and edited entirely by Olive herself.

The film’s cinematography is incredibly detailed, capturing everything from the dimly lit barns before dawn and wandering chickens searching for food, to the villagers’ weathered yet devout faces.


At the same time, the film remains sharply focused, documenting how the villagers go about their separate daily lives but come together to collaborate in celebration of the Bodhisattva’s birthday. This effectively conveys Olive’s reflections on the theme of “dispersion and aggregation.”


To create this film, Olive conducted extensive social research and taught herself documentary editing techniques. She sifted through an overwhelming amount of footage that quickly filled up her storage, ultimately crafting a deeply thoughtful and humanistic piece.


Her keen observations and storytelling abilities are exactly what Daystar Academy’s Social Innovation program aims to nurture—the narrative skills to reflect on society. The perspective of Dispersion and Aggregation showcases Olive’s humanistic depth and social consciousness.

Buzzing Bees

Curator:Bayan Changizi
A Daystar Academy student since CASA, Bayan loves insects and nature and is an exceptionally SI (Social Innovation) type of student!

Project:Beekeeping

This has been Bayan’s passion for more than ten years. That dedication alone makes it worth seeing.


In elementary school, Bayan’s PYP exhibition project was also about bees. That project, however, was theoretical only: a research paper. As part of this Personal Project, Bayan apprenticed with a beekeeper and is raising bees himself.


Bayan’s passion for this topic fuels his commitment. He is not bothered by the scorching sun or the occasional sting from protective bees when he checks the hive.

At the exhibition, Bayan demonstrated how to open a beehive: "A bee’s lifespan is only 30 days. Every time I open the hive, I see dead bees at the bottom. Their lives are short, but they play a crucial role in pollinating plants and benefiting humanity. Through this project, I want to raise awareness about the importance of bees and encourage people to use fewer pesticides to protect insects."


Bayan’s bees live on the organic farm he founded,FROOT, where they pollinate plants and produce honey, integrating into the farm’s ecosystem and enriching its content and depth.


On March 15, Bayan will be the only student speaker atThe Sustainable Futures Collective,where he will discuss his sustainable development practices through FROOT.

Building My Own Bike!

A Daystar Academy student since first grade, and Ivy Academy kindergarten alum, Nigel loves science and mountaineering.


Project:Nigel’s love of cycling gave him the idea he should have a custom designed bike; so he built one himself!

Nigel always has his own way of doing things. Last fall, at 15 years old, he organized and successfully climbed Yuzhu Peak, the highest point in the eastern Kunlun Mountains.


For his Personal Project, he surprised everyone again by constructing his own bicycle, and even taking it for several test rides at the exhibition.


In China, bicycle production is highly industrialized, so DIY assembly is an advanced-level challenge that comes with many obstacles. For example, some essential parts were not available in China and had to be imported from Europe or the U.S. Additionally, welding is not permitted within Beijing city limits, so he had to travel to the outskirts of town to find a factory.


The welding process itself also was not easy: "If you're not careful, you'll burn through the metal, or spend hours welding, only to find the parts still won’t connect properly," Nigel said.


With a burning passion and the same resilience that helped him conquer Yuzhu Peak, Nigel welded his own frame, built the wheel hubs, adjusted the brakes and gears, and, after four months, turned his blueprints into a fully functional “Nigel Edition” bike.

The Personal Project is like a kaleidoscope, reflecting students’ diverse interests and their unpredictable yet incredible potential and skills. No wonder Personal Project Coordinator Mr. Luke Jones said:

The Personal Project is an incredible opportunity for all tenth grade students to learn and grow. Through their projects, they have explored and expressed their passions in extraordinary ways. It has been my honor to guide them through this significant stage of their learning journey. Well done, MYP Class of 2025!
