2025年12月10日,上海福布斯中國(guó)集團(tuán)總部舉辦的2025福布斯中國(guó)國(guó)際化學(xué)校校長(zhǎng)評(píng)選頒獎(jiǎng)典禮上,廣州市斐特思學(xué)校中方總校長(zhǎng)鄭雷與外方總校長(zhǎng)Jeroen Gakes共同榮獲“2025福布斯中國(guó)國(guó)際化學(xué)校卓越校長(zhǎng)”獎(jiǎng)項(xiàng)。

The Expat and Chinese Heads of FCG Jointly Receive “2025 Forbes China Outstanding International School Principal Award ”

At the 2025 Forbes China International School Principal Selection Award Ceremony held at the Forbes China Headquarters in Shanghai on 10 December 2025, Ms Julie Zheng, the Chinese Head of FCG, and Mr Jeroen Gakes, the Expat Head of Fettes College Guangzhou, were jointly awarded the title of “2025 Forbes China Outstanding International School Principal Award ”.

The rare moment of two co-principals receiving the award together became a highlight of the ceremony. FCG’s successful dual–executive principal model, pairing Chinese and international leadership, has gained extensive recognition across the international education community.

A Benchmark of Integrated Chinese and Western Governance

The two award-winning principals are central to the educational philosophy that underpins FCG’s excellence.

Ms Julie Zheng brings over 30 years of experience in international education management, teaching, and curriculum development. She previously served as a board member and as the long-term Education Director and Curriculum Director at a leading education group, overseeing bilingual and international schools in Shanghai, Guangzhou, Qingdao, and other cities.

During her 15-year tenure as principal, she successfully led multiple schools and worked closely with numerous international principals. She has deep expertise in IGCSE, A-Level and IB curricula and is known for integrating the strengths of Chinese and international education.

Mr Jeroen Gakes has dedicated nearly three decades to education in China. An expert in cross-cultural school leadership, he previously served as a board member and Education Director in a prominent education group, fostering an inclusive, collaborative and learner-centered school culture while promoting strong integration between Chinese and international teaching teams.

He has led large educational communities, including several bilingual and international schools, achieving coordinated development across campuses. He has extensive experience in the English National Curriculum, the IPC, IGCSE, and IB programmes.

Together, this dual-core leadership breaks the limitations of a single cultural perspective. It ensures that strategic decision-making, curriculum integration and school culture formation embody both international vision and Chinese heritage, creating a truly immersive and multicultural environment for students.

Three Consecutive Years of Exceptional University Destinations

In education, the strongest proof is sustained achievement. FCG has responded to expectations with outstanding results from three consecutive graduating cohorts:

Class of 2024: The inaugural cohort achieved a historic milestone with admissions to both Oxford and Cambridge, and 100% of students received offers from QS Top 25 universities.

Class of 2025: Results reached new heights. Academically, 100% of students received offers from QS Top 20 universities. All art students gained admission to the University of the Arts London, with total scholarship offers exceeding 10 million RMB, achieving a true “grand slam” across top universities in the UK, US, Hong Kong, and Macao.

Class of 2026 (current cohort): With the application season just underway, the results are already remarkable.

Students have each received an average of three offers, including those from Oxford, Cambridge, Johns Hopkins University, Imperial College London and UCL, alongside multiple conditional offers and interview invitations.

From “Oxford–Cambridge dual success” to “three consecutive years of Oxbridge interview invitations”, these results clearly demonstrate that FCG’s accomplishments stem from visionary leadership, a coherent educational philosophy and solid institutional foundations.

Synergy in the Dual-Principal Model
